    level 2 asp equipment

If you work in the NSW energy distribution network as an Accredited Service Provider (ASP), safety should be your number one priority. With the risks involved in this line of work, it is vital to have the right Level 2 ASP equipment on hand to ensure your safety and that of those around you. In this article, we’ll explore some of the essential equipment that Level 2 ASPs may require to perform their work safely and effectively.

    Insulated hand tools

Insulated hand tools, such as pliers and screwdrivers protect you from electrical shock by providing insulation against electrical current. Using standard tools in high-voltage situations is incredibly dangerous and can also lead to serious injury or even death.

    500-volt insulation resistance tester

The 500-volt insulation resistance tester allows you to test the insulation resistance of electrical equipment to ensure that it is safe to use. It is especially important when working on equipment that has been out of service for an extended period.

    415-volt test lamps

ASPs use 415-volt test lamps to test the voltage of electrical circuits and equipment, as well as to check for the presence of current, which is essential when working on equipment that may still be live.

    Earth continuity lead

An earth continuity lead ensures all metalwork associated with electrical equipment is adequately earthed. It is crucial to ensure the earth connection is secure to prevent any electrical current from flowing through the metalwork and potentially causing injury or death.

    Enclosure access tools

Enclosure access tools help you safely access enclosures, such as switchboards, transformers, and also metering equipment. These tools provide insulation and protect you from electrical shock while working on live equipment.

    Phase rotation meter

A phase rotation meter identifies the phase sequence of a three-phase supply. This equipment is particularly important when working on complex electrical installations where the phase sequence can be difficult to determine visually.

Approved insulated gloves, safety helmet, and protective clothing

Approved insulated gloves, safety helmets, and protective clothing protect you from electrical shock and other hazards. This gear must meet Australian Standards.

Rescue kits for overhead and underground

Rescue kits for overhead and underground work include all the equipment needed to safely rescue someone who has been injured or trapped in a hazardous situation.

    Insulated ground mats

Insulated ground mats provide a barrier between you and the ground when working on live equipment. They prevent electrical current from flowing through your body in the case of a leakage.

    Streetlight column protective insulation kit

A streetlight column protective insulation kit protects you from electrical shock when working on streetlights. It basically by providing a barrier between you and the electrical current.
